Flooring · home improvement contractors
Flooring is decided room by room. The plan should be built the same way.
The appointment we work toward is a measurement and installation estimate with the homeowner who owns the property, inside your service area, with the rooms, material preference and prep needs already on the record.
The appointment we work toward
Measurement and installation estimate
A scheduled visit with the decision-maker present, the rooms or approximate area noted, the material direction discussed, and whether the job is a replacement or a new installation captured before anyone drives out.
Booked = specific slot · Attended reported separately
(01) How flooring wins work
The dynamics the plan is built around.
Material choice changes the conversation before the visit.
Hardwood, luxury vinyl, tile and carpet carry different price expectations and different lead times. Capturing the direction early means the estimate starts with real options rather than a catalogue tour.
Area is the number the quote depends on.
Rooms in scope, or an approximate area when the homeowner knows it, keep the estimate honest and let you sort small patch jobs from whole-floor projects before the calendar fills.
Replacement and new installation are different jobs.
Tearing out an existing floor, dealing with subfloor condition and disposing of old material is not the same as installing into a new build or an empty room. The record separates them so the right crew and the right time is planned.
Site prep decides whether the day runs smoothly.
Furniture, appliances, existing floor removal and subfloor levelling are the details that turn a clean estimate into a difficult one. They are asked about in the first conversation, not discovered on install day.
(02) Qualification
What has to be true before it counts as an appointment.
These are the criteria we write into the operating plan and you sign off before launch. An inquiry that does not meet them stays an inquiry in the record.
- Ownership
- Ownership or authority to approve the work is checked against the criteria agreed in your operating plan.
- Rooms or area
- The rooms in scope, or an approximate area when the homeowner already knows it.
- Material preference
- The direction the homeowner is leaning, or that the choice is still open, recorded as stated.
- Replacement or new
- Whether an existing floor comes out, or the installation goes into a new or empty space.
- Prep and access
- Furniture, appliances, removal and disposal needs, and how the crew reaches the rooms.
- Area and timing
- Inside your service area, with the window the homeowner wants to start in, recorded rather than assumed.
(03) Before the homeowner books
What the pages, ads and first conversation have to answer.
- “What will this actually cost per room?”
- A plain explanation of how flooring is priced, what changes the number and what the measurement visit settles.
- “How long will my home be unusable?”
- Timelines drawn from your own completed jobs, described as a process rather than a promise.
- “Do you move furniture and take the old floor away?”
- Your actual policy on moving, removal and disposal, stated on the page so it is not a surprise at the estimate.
- “Which material suits how we live?”
- Short, honest guidance on wear, moisture and rooms, drawn from work you have already completed.
(04) Timing
Flooring demand follows moves, renovations and damage.
New purchases, room remodels, pets, water damage and resale preparation each produce inquiries at different moments. Campaigns and follow-up are timed around the reason the homeowner gave rather than a single seasonal push.
(05) The decision
Both decision-makers should see the samples.
Material is a shared household decision more often than not. The Close Desk books the measurement when the people choosing can be present, with rooms and preferences already noted so the visit moves to selection quickly.

(07) Questions
Asked by flooring contractors.
Yes. Minimum scope rules are written into the operating plan. Inquiries below the floor you set are recorded and handled courteously rather than booked as estimates.
Only if refinishing is part of the scope you actually sell. What is promoted is set from your own service list in the operating plan.
Approximate area is asked for and recorded when known. When it is not, rooms in scope are captured instead so the estimator can plan the visit.
Photography and short clips from your finished floors, captured with guidance we provide, used across pages, ads and social.
